Premiering: documentary 'Ans and the Universe' (Ans Hoornweg)
Through this way we would like to let you know that Ans’ documentary “Ans and the Universe” will premiere on January 26, 2024.
As you may know, Ans was filmed in her last Earth years for a documentary. This is now finished, and recently we got the fantastic news that this documentary has been officially selected for the IFFR 2024 in Rotterdam!!!
The premiere of Ans’ docu is on Friday, January 26, and the makers (Noëlle Ingeveldt and Jurriaan v. Berkel) would love it if her dear family, friends and blog readers would like to attend.
It also seems like a great opportunity for you, as loyal ‘followers’ of Ans, to meet and talk to each other at that premiere, as a kind of reunion. So if you want to be at the premiere in Rotterdam …… please mark January 26 in your agenda.
Ans and the Universe
In 2022, Ans Hoornweg died at the age of 80. She was a woman with an extraordinary story – to others that is, to Ans it was the most normal thing in the world. She appeared several times on TV as a medium who could communicate with extraterrestrials.
In Ans and the Universe, she tells for the last time about her ‘out of body experiences’, her visits to other planets, but also about her media appearances and the way she was sometimes called crazy. For Ans, there is no doubt: aliens are everywhere and we are slowly moving towards a new era where current gender norms no longer apply.
Documentary filmmakers Berkveldt (Noëlle Ingeveldt and Juriaan van Berkel) have created a testament of integrity from a woman with an extraordinary life story, included among the numerous puppets Ans herself made of her alien friends.

Ticket sales start online on January 12 at 20:00 via IFFR.com.
Tickets are also on sale at the cinema on the day itself (and it’s free seating).
On the site of LantarenVenster I saw that there is a restaurant near the cinema, so afterwards you can have a chat there while enjoying a snack and/or drink.
I’m going to the premiere on Friday afternoon, and with me Arjan (who made beautiful drawings of Lobob and Ans’ dolls) and probably also Merlinde (who made Ans’ movies and manages her Facebook).
